GARDEN HUCKLEBERRY
Although raw fruits are slightly bitter, huckleberry pie filling taste just like blueberry pie, without staining your teeth. One plant
produces enough berries to fill a pie. Easy to grow. A member of the nightshade family just like tomatoes. Pie recipe enclosed on
seed package.
PLANTING: Sow seeds indoors in early spring in Jiffy 7 or in flats with inserts with a good soil substitute, like Berger BM-2. Place
seeds 1/4" deep. Germinate at 70F for about 14 days or until emerged. Transplant outdoors after all danger of frost is past. Space
plants 20" apart.
