About Our Business
                        THE SAFE SEED PLEDGE......
Agriculture and seeds provide the basis upon which our lives depend. We must protect this foundation
as a safe and genetically stable source for future generations. For the benefit of all farmers,
gardeners, and consumers who want an alternative, we pledge that we do not knowingly buy or sell
genetically engineered ( GMO ) seeds or plants. The mechanical transfer of genetic material outside of
natural reproductive methods and between genera, families, or kingdoms, poses great biological
risks as well as economic, political and cultural threats. We feel that genetically engineered varieties
have been insufficiently tested prior to public release. More research and testing is necessary to
further access the potential risks of genetically engineered seeds. Further, we wish to support
agricultural progress that leads to healthier soils, genetically diverse agricultural ecosystems, and
ultimately people and communities. To learn more about the above pledge and which seed
companies or individuals have signed the above pledge, contact:

How We Started
Prior to 1989, Norman Kilmer was a dairy farmer and part time seed corn salesman who provided
gift packets of sweet corn to farmers purchasing their field corn seed from him. The farm wives were
interested in buying the sweet corn seed, so in 1989, Norman offered 4 varieties of sweet corn and 1
variety of shell peas. That fall, he sent out questionnaires on varieties of seed desired and Morgan
County Wholesale was started. Besides the name change, the size and scope have also changed.
The knickknacks, handmade wooden farm animals, and novelty items they originally handled have
been dropped and Morgan County Seed is now the largest retail vegetable seed dealer and the largest
wholesale dealer in Missouri. They now handle over 1000 varieties of seed and ship world wide.
I am Errol Ahlers and Norman has been very helpful to me as I have gotten into vegetables and
flowers. His faith prevents him from going on line, so I have undertaken to put his catalog on the web
for the world to see. Some of my prices will be slightly higher than the catalog to help pay the cost of
being online and some will be lower due to the problem of keeping up to date on 3,000+ prices..

Our Service

I've been told in business, customers have 3 desires: good, fast, and cheap. I've also been told
you can have any two at the cost of the third. For example, if the desire is fast and good, it won't be
cheap We choose to operate under the desire of providing good quality and reasonable prices and
in our case that usually means it won't be fast.
Most of the seed and supplies get here in January. We will start to ship orders as soon as we can.
The first 3 months of the year, we maybe up to 3 weeks behind in filling orders.
At the end of most seed descriptions, we will note whether seed is treated or untreated. We will try to
keep this as accurate as possible. However, as we have no control over some of our seed suppliers,
seed maybe stated as untreated & when shipped to us it maybe treated.  If you need all untreated
seed, please state so on seed order form. Please also supply us with a phone number in case we
need to contact you about your order.
